Whats up with these dreams?

im 16 and i've been having these strange dreams a recent one i had last night was bout a dead body of a boy in my truck when i lived in a different city. ive had ones about my ex beating me up kiling people and my friends backstabbing me. All these dreams have happened after my ex gave me his ring, i keep it on my bedside table and it starting to creep me out i wake up at 4 in the morning and cant sleep i havent had a good night sleep because of my dreams i left the ring in my bathroom one night and my dreams stopped. what should i do? why do i keep having these dreams?
