What should i do?????????????????????????/?

My friends called me backstabber when i said something that is true.. and now theyre backstabbing me.. Theyre telling my other friends that i called them ugly and stuff, when it was really them who said it.. but i just get along so they wont hate me.. What should i do? end our friendship or soemthing? help pls.
